How it was done: this was the hardest, most time consuming project to date. I had been saving up glass over the years out of dumpstered windows and such. Two of us spent all day cutting it into 200 7”s squares. I used an exacto knife to cut the Spitting Teeth logo into a sheet of rubber and then laid that over the glass in a sanblasting cabinet and etched the band’s logo. I’d seen a sculptor friend use this technique to etch lettering into stone plinths for sculptures. I was dismayed when after a few pieces the rubber sheeting started to dissolve under the force of the sandblasting. I guess this stuff was meant to only be used once and not for repeated etchings. So I used a router to cut out “SPITTING TEETH”in a sheet of wood and used it as a stencil to sandblast the glass. I had to clamp it together inside the cabinet and several times the clamps broke the glass. The wood stencil also got blasted away so some of them the letters are really fuzzy where the stencil was breaking down. I put the clear vinyl in between the glass and put them in a clear plastic sleeve.
