Black Market Baby from Washington DC were around in the late 70's and early 80's. Unlike most DC bands they played pretty straight forward punk rock instead of hardcore. They were pretty overshadowed by local hardcore bands, but had a great sound and style all their own and mixed well with the hardcore crowd. I saw these guys many times in the 80's and they were always great. Their sound was more influenced by the Stooges/Dolls/Heartbreakers and UK Punk than hardcore. This 7" re issue from Dr. Strange features the original two songs on the Limp Records ep plus two never heard live tracks. Because it was on some comps this gets labelled as "KBD" punk at times. However you slice it, great early US punk.
