Amdi Petersens Arme was one of the most important hardcore bands of the early 21st century. Emerging in Copenhagen in the late 90s they took their cues from the late '70s early 80s first wave hardcore sounds of Washington DC and Los angeles. They mixed this with a reverence and renewal of early Scandinavian punk and hardcore.
Originally released in 1994 on Sound Pollution Records and out of print on vinyl since, this was the final release by Minneapolis’ Destroy. Recorded after the band's six-week 1993 tour, it captures the power and energy of the early 90’s DIY hardcore scene exploding at that time. Destroy formed in 1989 and was a part of the worldwide movement from 1980’s hardcore punk towards more fast and extreme music. Destroy had roots in the radical Anarcho-Punk scene and integrated elements of Fastcore, Crust, and Grindcore into a powerful and heavy hardcore sound with a driving political message.
This LP compiles all the non-LP studio tracks by Minneapolis’ Destroy. Like many of their 90’s DIY peers, Destroy spread their output among several 7”s, split 7”s and compilations to try to release as many tracks to as wide an audience as possible, then culminating their recording careers with their capstone 1994 LP, Necropolis. This release compiles the Total Fucking Chaos 7”, Burn This Racist System Down 7”, split 7”s with Disrupt and Disturb and compilation tracks.
